Alternative Process of Accreditation

As an alternative to the process of accreditation outlined in the general and specific sub-sections, an External Examiner may recommend to the Accreditation Panel that a college be granted accreditation status relative to a particular subject or course moderated by that External Examiner. The External Examiner's recommendation should be based on two criteria:

That over a three year period the grades of the internal examiner(s) of the college in that subject or course have been accepted by the External Examiner with at most very minor adjustments.

(ii) That the External Examiner is abundantly satisfied that the standard of draft questions submitted, the assessment of course work and the marking of the examination papers match the standards that the JBTE seeks to maintain.
