This setup guide makes certain assumptions about
the state of your computer system.
- Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 is installed and
fully updated
- Your computer system has internet access and
is already connected to the internet
- The user’s email account is already activated
by the JBTETSU
- This setup is intended for Microsoft Office
Outlook 2003 running on Windows XP
If any of the above assumptions are not met, the
success of the setup guide cannot be guaranteed.

To start the setup, click on the “Start” button
then right click on the Outlook icon and click “Properties” as shown
below


If the “Mail” profile box comes up as shown, click the “Add” button to
add your profile to the email system.

Enter your name in the “Profile Name textbox then click “OK”

Click the “E-mail Accounts…” button

Select “Add a new e-mail account” then click “Next”
NB: If the logon screen comes up at any
point during the initial configuration setup, ignore it by clicking
“Cancel”

Select “Microsoft Exchange Server” as the Server Type then click “Next”

Enter “jbte-mail” in the “Microsoft Exchange Server” textbox.
Check the “Use Cached Exchange Mode” checkbox
Enter you username in the “User Name” textbox.
DO NOT CLICK “Check Name” at this point
Click “More Settings”
If the logon screen comes up at this point click
cancel.
The “Microsoft Exchange Server” properties box then
comes up.

Click on the “Security” tab

Check the “Encryption” checkbox and the “User identification” checkbox.
Click on the “Connection” tab

Check the “Exchange over the internet” checkbox, then click the
“Exchange Proxy Settings…” button.

Check the checkboxes and enter the information exactly as shown above.
Make sure that the “Proxy authentication settings” is set to “Basic
Authentication”.
DO NOT
CHECK “Mutually authenticate the session when connecting with SSL”.
Then click “OK”. Click “OK” again to close the “Microsoft Exchange
Server” properties box.
Click “Next” on the “E-mail Accounts” settings page. At this point you
may be ask to login to your email account. Enter the relevant
information then click ok.
If successfully authenticated the following page will be displayed.

Click “Finish” the complete your Outlook email setup. You can now start
using your email by clicking on the Outlook icon.
